Stephani Robson, a senior lecturer at the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, agreed that the concept of a microhotel room “is often more about meeting the needs of developers.” Although the size of microhotel guest rooms is “minimalist,” she says,  “it does not mean they are not comfortable or stylish. They’re very well planned, and they make optimal use of every square inch.”

“I advise a lot of students in a lot of majors and they’re all like, this is going to be cool,” said Antonio DiTommaso, professor of soil and crop sciences at Cornell. “I think some of it is just a novelty, but it’s really going to be based on the cropping, the agronomics, the medicinal aspect, the chemistry, consumer attitudes and policy.”

"The message the US government does not want to come out and say is that they are behind in 5G. But the Europeans have to decide how they want to go. The US wants them to rely upon them and if the US says it is behind, it makes them less attractive, so there is a little bit of political spin and being in a corner," says Bart Selman, professor of computer science.
