It’s got to that point now where I can’t choose Darcy’s clothes for her any more. At all. She has to be involved in the making process all the way. From choosing the fabric, to choosing the pattern to choosing the detail, the length. EVERYTHING. It’s a pain because it takes longer. But in the long run at least I know she’ll wear what I make her. Sometimes I go to bed with creative thoughts and ideas that bother me, things that I can’t quite work out, things that I’m not too sure about. Obstacles. But by the morning I have ideas, I find solutions. That’s the power of sleep. Sleep is where I find my inspiration.

A paper bag skirt was the first skirt I ever made for Scout. But sadly it has become too small for social etiquette. She wanted me to make her another one, but she was adamant that she didn’t want the single strap this time. I tried to tell explain to her that it was cool and quirky, but she looked at me in a way that suggested I had no idea what cool was. Continue reading

So I made myself some harem pants, I wore them immediately. Flattering, I’m not sure. Comfortable, hell yes. I took them on a test drive (to my mum’s house). “What are you wearing?” she says. Not to be confused with “What are you wearing?” Stress being on the ‘are’. Continue reading
