Hurricane season in the United States is in full force. Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have recently ravaged parts of the south, most notably Texas and Florida. Meteorologists have, understandably, taken a dire tone in their forecasts to prepare residents of these areas for the worst-case scenarios. Often times, however, they veer from being helpful and informative into sensationalism, reporting from places that they’ve explicitly told everyday people to evacuate.

Yayoi Kusama Announces She’s Opening Her Own Museum in Tokyo

Celebrated Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is set to open her own museum in October 2017. The prolific artist, most well-known for her Mirror Room installations, recently announced without warning that the new Yayoi Kusama museum would open in Tokyo's Shinjuku neighborhood. A website for the museum is now online, stating that the first exhibition will be Creation Is a Solitary Pursuit, Love Is What Brings You Closer to Art.

In a series of tweets, SpaceX and Tesla owner Elon Musk gave commuters on the East Coast a reason to get excited. According to Musk, he received verbal approval for The Boring Company to build a New York City to Washington, DC Hyperloop that would link these cities in a quick, 29-minute trip. New Evidence Suggests Amelia Earhart Survived Her Plane Crash

The disappearance of Amelia Earhart is one bewildering mystery that we're still trying to solve. Her goal of circumnavigating the globe came to a sudden end in 1937 when she—along with her navigator Fred Noonan—vanished over the Pacific Ocean. Earhart and Noonan were declared dead in 1939, but that hasn’t stopped folks from speculating what happened. Some (including experts) contend that she simply ran out of fuel, crashed her plane, and then sank.
