Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) is a library of functions and operators that can be combined to build formulas and expressions in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services, Power Pivot in Excel, and Power BI Desktop.

Power Query Formula Language

The Power Query Formula Language (informally known as "M") is a powerful mashup query language optimized for building queries that mashup data. It is a functional, case sensitive language similar to F#, which can be used in Power BI Desktop, Power Query in Excel, and Get & Transform in Excel 2016.
