We are spending $750 a child and there is no real accountability of where that money goes. The level of trauma these kids have is real and persistent. We need a comprehensive trauma-informed care program that addresses what they are going through.

Today, I joined my colleagues in conducting an oversight visit of the Homestead child detention center in Florida. I left this facility with more questions than when I entered. The fact that that these children are still incarcerated is a failure of the Trump Admin’s approach.
