I guess all I’m saying is when people hear “elected,” they think “majority.” He, Steve King, and others play on that to make people think he won a majority. Then the Trumpists whine about being unfairly criticized over losing the popular vote.

I’m tired of hearing people say “the American people elected Trump.” It’s just not true. The States did, through the Electoral College, which reduces the power of the majority. That’s the system we keep in place, but it doesn’t mean the people elected him.
