Delighted to be a Champion this year for My Dad loved the Just William stories by Richmal Compton and read them aloud to me until I was able to read them myself. As a bit of a tomboy, I identified with all the mischief that William got himself into!

First up is 'The first book I fell in love with was Tales of Ancient Egypt. I was utterly fascinated by all these gods and goddesses who schemed, plotted, loved, hated and lived and died, as humans do. I've loved Egyptian mythology ever since!'
