This is a great piece. takes us on a historical journey all the way back to Enoch Powell to illustrate why we should not dismiss the ill-disguised anti-Muslim "intellectual musings" of Roger Scruton, Douglas Murray and others.

As a child of “pious Muslims from the hinterlands of Asia” I take Roger Scruton’s comments personally. His views are abhorrent. James Brokenshire was right to sack him and Scruton should have no further place in our country’s public life.

Think that's right. The Soros/Hungarian Jews stuff didn't fit in this piece, but the basic view (the underlying "nation" is determined by religion/Christianity/blood, and Jews/Muslims, no matter how long they've been there, don't really fit in) is the same.

???? Utterly bizarre. Are you serious? As says, Scruton labels people into "tribes" based on where they came from/who their parents are. I point that out. This isn't hard.

Reasonable enough, and obviously you can call me "tendentious" if you like, but it's odd to say I'm creating a "definition of conservativism founded on reaction." I'm not a political philosopher/theorist, and I didn't use the word (or even think about it)

so, in this case, we come quickly to this I accept your apology for the stupid and false accusation I'd describe someone as a racist scumbag without clear evidence they are in fact a racist scumbag.

I feel an obligation to engage constructively with genuine comments/questions. But I don't want to waste time with racist trolls. So I just scroll down their tweets a bit. Usually, as in this case, it's pretty obvious.

It's a phrase I use to respond to racist/anti-semitic scum like you. Before muting or blocking. Now crawl back under your rock. Goodbye.

Thread 1/ The scale of food poverty in the UK, the fifth richest economy in the world, and its rapid increase over recent years is staggering. I've been researching this for for just over a year.

Yes, and republished in "American Renaissance", in full, with no objection from Scruton, presumably. As I said, your beliefs, since they're based on (deliberate) ignorance and laziness (takes 2 minutes on google) are utterly worthless. Goodbye now.

Absolutely brilliant from Gives Roger Scruton no quarter. 'intellectual, political and street-level bigotry are inseparable both in theory and practice.' Shows us all how to engage with apologists for Powell and Farage.

The problem with Roger Scruton’s views aren’t limited to what he may or may not have said to the New Statesman. Read this analysis by

You can follow the link to the neo-Nazi rag that published Scruton's ravings if you want the context. As for your "belief" about the social housing numbers, they are utterly worthless, since they are based on ignorance and laziness..
