. client Angela Garcia plead guilty to setting fire to her own home, killing her daughters, in exchange for a reduced sentence. Send her an uplifting message as she awaits release in 2022 for a crime she didn’t commit:

Amazing win in PA. My client Tony Wright spent five *extra* years in a cell, fighting for the DNA test that cleared him. Never again.

Anyone who's in NY on Nov 1st join us at the launch event for our new series on wrongfully convicted people "Innocence Ignored" (two exonerees will be there to speak about their experience!)

Too often do parole boards force people in prison to be "accountable" for crimes they did not commit. Yet they refuse to take any accountability for their role in our flawed justice system.

I'm thrilled that has signed into law the Senate versions of my post-relief conviction/DNA bills. This will help ensure the right people are behind bars. Thanks also to for his ldship & work.

Thank you for highlighting these cases. I did my master's thesis on prisoners who cling to innocence claims and are thereby denied parole, sometimes for years, sometimes quite wrongly

Thank you for thinking of us! It's very easy to create a community fundraiser on Facebook if you're open to that.

Just had a man I was trying to help get out of prison say he did commit the crime to get parole. He has denied it for 28 years/5 previous parole hearings. He finally had enough, confessed, and now he will be paroled.

I recall a client who told me on meeting: I'm pleading guilty! I asked him to go through step by step what he was guilty of, turned out he wasn't guilty of the charge- occasionally people feel they're guilty but aren't

That’s simply not true. I’ve seen pd’s beg ppl not to plead out, and their client beg and insist the pd get them a deal... Not doing so means being fired, losing income, losing housing for themselves and any family who depends on them.

As a public defender for over 7 years, I have yet to have a single client turn down a plea offer that gets them out of jail. The chance to go home overwhelms the question of whether they are innocent or guilty. Innocent people plead guilty all the time. Great work by .

Amazing news! signs laws expanding the right to postconviction DNA testing in Pennsylvania. Now, even defendants who pleaded guilty can seek such testing. Congrats to and thanks to everyone who reached out to the Governor!
