A demand the U.S. didn't accept in Vienna, and had minimal chances of being entertained in Doha - and also an issue that is not merely a bilateral point of contention. E3 almost certainly would also say no, and IAEA wouldn't close the file unless safeguards concerns met.

Some new detail on the Doha #IranTalks. Confirming what a couple of others that Iran pushed non-JCPOA demands at the talks. In particular, two western diplos tell me, Iran demanded that the IAEA safeguards probe be killed if they return to the deal. -2-

After my consultations in Tehran, my team is as of today in Doha to coordinate and facilitate indirect exchanges between US and Iranian negotiators.

Another change following the shakeup in the IRGC's intelligence branch:
General Hassan Mashroueifar has been appointed as the commander of the IRGC's Vali amr unit, which is in charge of providing security to Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei.
