A6: I give my Ss parts of projects to figure out on their own, then wander the room, figure out how many Ss require my help, and what they require my help with. I keep teaching projects with the same content until around 80% of the students are able to do the work independently.

One of the most helpful things to do in class is pair programming, especially because it’s a common practice in industry.

I would say it is a better second step in a scheme of work rather than initial step as pupils need to understand a majority of the concepts used in the code to make useful predictions about it.

Me to students, “Your assessments are just as much about my teaching as your learning. If you show learning it means that I did my job well. But if you struggled, that gives me feedback for our next steps.” Assessment is something we do together, not something I do to you.
