Let me put it this way: From a tech perspective (i.e. built-in budget tracking) the Apple card is interesting. From a points and rewards perspective, it is underwhelming compared to other retail-branded cards. Bump up 3% for Apple purchases to 5% and it'll be more competitive. twitter.com/bradenmcg/stat…

Don’t know off the bat if there are cards with the same perks combined. I personally don’t care to get cash back on the same day and am not sure those who regularly buy Apple stuff would either. Lots of cards waive international fees.

Citi Double Cash for 2% on everything - I use this for retail shopping and commuting. Amazon credit card for 5 percent back on all Amazon and Whole Foods purchases

But since you asked, here are my core credit cards. Chase Reserve (shared account with fiancée to split the annual fee) for 3% back on all dining and travel. Chase Ink for 5% back on utilities and gift cards from office supply stores.

Lol I could seriously talk for half an hour about credit card rewards but I’ve seen people shut down at dinner when I do

The alternatives will get even more points on Apple purchases. For example, buying an iTunes or Apple gift card with Chase Ink will get 5% back; buying an Apple product on Amazon with the Amazon credit card is 5% back. Apple card is 3% back. Meh.

As an unabashed points nerd, the Apple credit card doesn’t impress me. The Citi Double Cash is generally better, and there are plenty of ways to get extra points on Apple purchases like the Chase portal or using Chase Ink to buy iTunes gift cards.

I hope as part of its plans to transform into a services company, Apple raises the free tier of iCloud storage from 5GB to something reasonable. 5GB isn't enough even for casual tech users to try out iCloud and determine whether it's worth paying for.

Yeah, you're right, "press down" is the wrong terminology. But there's something off about it - it's not registering my clicks as consistently as it used to. Sometimes I have to press multiple times.

Plenty of people complain about the MacBook Pro keyboard, but I have more of an issue with how the touchpad becomes difficult to press down over time, and this doesn't seem resolvable without taking apart the computer.

News Corp CEO Robert Thomson used to be the one to warn the news industry about partnering with the tech giants, but now the WSJ is signing up with Apple. Now it's the NYT's Mark Thompson that is raising the alarm. reuters.com/article/us-med…

I advise Facebook users to take zero solace in Facebook's statement that it has found no evidence of abuse. How would they have digital evidence of a Facebook employee looking at your password in plain text?

I also deleted my Facebook and started getting ads targeted towards women, and was very confused?? Glad to hear there are others out there going through this too. We will persevere.
