Shocking news that up to 150 people have died in shipwreck off Libya. Each year 1000s drown fleeing poverty, inequality, climate & conflict - fuelled by policies of western govts who prefer to dump people in detention camps rather than provide real help.

This is appalling. The world’s largest private security company, G4S, continues to make huge profits by contracting abuse and insecurity. The UK government should immediately strip G4S of its contracts, and end its unjust system of arbitrary detention.

We expect Ian Austin MP to use his new role as trade envoy to call for the immediate suspension of trade with Israel, and any other regime which systematically violates international law and abuses human rights.

By investing in Caterpillar, HSBC is complicit too. Please urgently write to HSBC to tell it to divest from Caterpillar now, as well as other companies selling weapons and military technology to Israel.

We wrote to HSBC over its investments in Caterpillar, whose machines are on site carrying out demolitions. So long as Caterpillar continues to sell its machinery to Israeli forces, despite knowledge of how it is used, it is complicit in war crimes.
