This is about a fascistic hate-mongering terror group that, no longer able to kill civilians on buses and in cafes with bombs, instead uses rockets to kill indiscriminately, and a country acting in self-defense.

Since Shabbat, 4 Israelis have been killed by a barrage of over 600 rockets and mortars fired from Gaza into Israel. 23 Palestinians have died due to retaliatory strikes by Israel.
We are heartbroken over the loss of all these lives.

On this day, we mourn yet another horrific attack on a synagogue. Yet another antisemitic attack. And yet more Jewish lives lost to hate in America.
We mourn with Chabad of Poway. We cry to Hashem to end this madness.
But we cannot stop there.

This could mean activism against the institutionalized white nationalism of Trump's government.
It could mean working in solidarity with local interfaith groups. It could mean many things, even simply spreading awareness of white nationalism to those near you.

Finally, we must truly act. As Chabad beautifully calls on others to take on mitzvahs, we call on ourselves and those around us to commit to an action that will affect the fight around white nationalism.

We have seen organizations refuse to address white nationalism.
We have seen what we see repeatedly: a segment of the Jewish world, and of the world at large, that will not stand up for their own people because it does not suit their political ends. They must be called out.

Third, we must be willing to speak up to those who will use this opportunity to lie and manipulate reality in order to suit their ends. We have already seen Jewish leaders use this opportunity to bash Ilhan Omar, who had nothing to do with this attack.

Second, we must realize that we are united with others in this pain. We are thankful to all the other communities that have reached out to us, including our Muslim cousins. We must realize that it is in our unity that we can fight the scourge we have named.

And that starts with naming what has killed our fellow Jews: white nationalism. Not just a single white nationalist, but the movement itself.
