"The record of privatisation, of leaving the public less safe, of leaving the taxpayer out of pocket, should put an end to this failed experiment" - in the explaining just how disastrous the privatisation of probation has been.

The climate emergency is a class issue and, as says, it’s only through people power that we can turn things around. Like so many, I’m looking forward to seeing more Green Industrial Revolution events happening soon.

Nigel Farage is bad news for the majority of people in this country, whether they voted leave or remain. He offers no solutions to the real problems Tory austerity has created. Farage poses as anti-establishment while cosying up to Trump and serving the interests of the top 1%.

Proud to give the opening address to Conference this morning in Leeds, where ASLEF was founded in 1880. A Labour Government will bring the railways into public ownership so passengers and public service - not private profit - is put first.

These figures will further fuel fears that privatisation is seeing corners cut as private companies treat our prisons system as a money-making exercise. Yet the Tories have even more private prisons in the pipeline. A Labour Government will scrap them.

25 years ago today, Labour lost our Leader, our country lost someone who was set to be a truly great Prime Minister and his family and friends lost a wonderful man. John Smith was a force for good. In Government let’s honour his legacy of fighting against poverty and inequality.

As said in his speech today, quoting Nelson Mandela, “our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.” Delighted that he could join us today in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

My message to those on the National Demonstration for Palestine in London today: We cannot stand by or stay silent at the continuing denial of rights and justice to the Palestinian people.

from last night in Cambridge is being repeated today (Saturday) at 1.10pm on . Well worth a listen because there were some really interesting questions and discusssions on some of the big, fundamental issues that aren’t often explored on political programmes.

Shocking that this headteacher thinks letting more children from state schools - which the majority of children attend - into Oxford & Cambridge is "social engineering". Labour will end tax breaks for private schools & use the money on free school meals for all primary pupils.

The management of Delta Airlines don’t want their low-paid workers to join a union. They pretend to care about their workers' budgets, but not enough to give them better pay and conditions. Great to see pushback from Delta employees and union reps against this anti-union move!

It is morally wrong to incarcerate human beings for profit. The privatisation of our justice system has proven a dangerous and expensive failure. I will be leading a Parliamentary debate next week demanding the Tories scrap plans for new private prisons and probation contracts.

Tory probation privatisation has wasted hundreds of millions of pounds & left the public less safe. Labour has led the way on the need to bring it back in-house. The Tories must commit to bringing it fully back into public ownership - no half measures.

As Jeremy said today, we are internationalists to our core. We cannot face the threats of the far right, multinational corporations and the climate emergency alone. Labour will strengthen ties with progressive movements both at home and abroad.

Nigel Farage has nothing to offer working class people being failed by a rotten system. As Jeremy says, only Labour can see off Farage's snake oil in this election. Read our Euro Elections manifesto here 👇👇👇

It is right that the Justice Select Committee is closely scrutinising this Ministerial Direction from David Gauke, especially given the significant problems and additional costs incurred following the part privatisation of probation.
