OK. The HCNZ calls the claim Israel is committing genocide "a monumental assertion without any substantive basis in fact" and I also find it pernicious. What evidence do you have to substantiate the claim - or did you mean something else?

I agree that's not Holocaust denial. But if you read what I wrote, you'll see that the baseless claim of "genocide" when implicitly compared to the Holocaust is a form of denial (I put in a link that you can read also, if you're truly interested).

2. I don't think "the current set up" amounts to 'apartheid'. The pernicious lie I was referring to was the claim that Israel was committing "genocide". That's why I included the HCNZ press release and have referred to Prof Lipstadt's point (ie it is form of Holocaust denial).

1. I was referring to the definition of libel as "make a false and typically malicious statement about" but take your point about requiring a person. Perhaps "pernicious lie" would be better.

Fair point and good distinction.
"Holocaust story" and "Israel is committing genocide" could both be denial; the latter antisemitism (as well as clearly false).
It is concerning that a senior journalist, responsible for producing a national show, and an MP can lie so unashamedly
