There are plenty of opportunities in Sunderland to get involved in National Walking Month with events and activities throughout May - and throughout the year - to suit walkers of all ages and abilities

Yet more evidence today of the extent to which the Tories have ran our NHS down after years of austerity & cuts. They promised us 5,000 extra GPs yet in reality delivered the biggest sustained cut in GPs since the 60s.

Not pretty but important - nappies don't go in the recycling. All these went through our sorting machines in just 2 minutes. Hundreds pass through every day, contaminating good recycling and making it a very unpleasant working environment. Green bin only please

Given that was shamefully bullied into backtracking on its pledge to remove listings in illegal settlements, governments like the UK must act to regulate. Thank you for keeping up focus on this issue

In 2017 I visited Israel + Palestine with Labour MPs. On our return we called on online booking companies to stop offering tourists accommodation in illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank. Today we have written to the Foreign Sec asking him to intervene in this long battle.

“National Action was banned in 2016, but - unlike the authorities - HOPE not hate never stopped tracking the organisation...Then one day, a disillusioned member contacted us. After working with him for several months, we got word of the murder plot.”

Today will seek to save free TV licences for over-75s. “The Tories made a manifesto commitment in 2017 that TV licences would stay free for over-75s. This is about asking the Govt whether they will keep their promise.”

Our city will be disproportionately affected by Brexit. The signs are already there. I agree with that we should have the opportunity to have a confirmatory vote on any deal that is reached

After Thursday it’s clear a general election won’t resolve Brexit. It is time to put the question back to the people. Only they can decide whether they want to go ahead with a Brexit so far from what was promised in 2016
