Some are leaving the impression that refuses to do the kind of humanitarian work needed on the border. But I’ve been to the border, toured facilities, & that’s not what I have seen. Speaking w/ in the homeland hearing:

I have known Secretary Esper for many years - he is an outstanding leader and a true patriot, and he has the right mix of experience and character to get the job done. I am pleased he has been confirmed to serve as 27th Secretary of Defense.

Bipartisan Humanitarian Aid Bill for the Southern Border just passed. A great job done by all! Now we must work to get rid of the Loopholes and fix Asylum. Thank you also to Mexico for the work being done on helping with Illegal Immigration - a very big difference!

This is a victory for national security at our southern border, and for meeting the needs of the skyrocketing number of migrants illegally flooding into our country. This crisis not only demands our attention, but meaningful action, and I'm proud to support this emergency funding

I’m glad our House colleagues passed the Senate’s bipartisan funding bill for the humanitarian crisis on our southern border. I just signed off on this badly-needed legislation and now it’s finally on its way to the President’s desk.

$4.6 billion for the border crisis. More immigration judges. More border protection. More for ICE overtime. More for migrant care and sanitary conditions. Voting on this bipartisan supplemental deal was the right thing to do. Now let's address root causes.

I commend the 129 House Democrats who joined with Republicans to pass bipartisan humanitarian assistance for our southern border. This funding is desperately needed for border agents to restore order and humanely carry out their mission.
