לגבי שטח השלג, הוא בערך 370 קמ"ר שהם 24% אחוז מאגן הניקוז של הירדן (1565 קמ"ר).

I made a very detailed map of quarries and quarrying activity in 2014 from high res orthos by digitizing features. It was a tedious one-off project.

מכיון ששלג לא צפוף כמו מים, היחס יכול לנוע בין 5% ל-50%, תלוי בכמה השלג דחוס. אני לא יודע כמה השלג דחוס, או כמה שלג ירד בכל אגן הכנרת (מרביתו בלבנון), אבל בכל מקרה רוב הפשרות שלגים מחלחלות לתוך הספוג הקארסטי שנקרא הר החרמון, ונובעים ממעיינות במהלך השבועות, חודשים, ושנים אח"כ.
