Former President George H. Bush: great President, great human being. Was privileged to host him at our National Training Center almost 30 years ago - what a leader he was! Sound judgment, compassion, warmth, strength. Mourning our loss today.

The problems with ’s tenure as Commander in Chief go beyond just his petty insults of those who served. On almost every level, Donald Trump just does not “get it” when it comes to leading our military and veterans. My op-ed:

Rain kept the Commander-in-Chief from paying respects to our fallen soldiers in France? Sad, yes. But also contemptible!

I signed onto this statement, because I am not about to let Donald Trump and his party take a wrecking ball to the country I love, and the system of government that I swore my life to defend. Counting every vote is the American way.

In the Balkans, I saw war tear people apart. We must never let that kind of hate and division take root here. I urge you to vote Democratic, today, and reject the hate and fear President Trump tries to promote.

The American taxpayer has every right to demand that President Trump reimburse the government for his insane waste of military resources, to try to stoke fears before an election. This deployment is a complete waste, and a political stunt. Absolutely improper use of our forces.

This is a political stunt. These troops legally cannot do anything other than logistics support. Gross misuse of our military, taking them away from exercises and work meant to truly defend America. Media must cover this as the ridiculous, wasteful stunt that it is.

Our military is meant to protect the United States, and give young men and women a path to success. It cannot become a training center for Middle East contract killers. The war in Yemen is turning it into that.

Mr. President, I am telling you as a former commander that troops in combat need to see their Commander in Chief. It is a huge deal when one visits, and it doesn’t go unnoticed when there’s been no visit. Cancel a rally or two, and go see our troops, now.

I don't see kneeling as disrespect for our armed forces or veterans. It is a statement about the discrimination, prejudices, and injustices that still age American Society. & are on the right side of history.

Koch Brother groups are smearing , who has been a true friend to veterans, especially on the opioid issue. We won’t let that stand. So, we’re up with $550k behind this ad, defending her record.
