For all his claims to respect parliamentary democracy, Jacob Rees-Mogg just tells me that he will not be upholding the resolutions of the House of Commons when they are passed. No change there then.

I asked to promise that if he fails to get a new “deal” with the EU, Parliament will determine what happens next. He refused. Be in no doubt the Govt is determined to crash us out of the with

We’ve had a General Election of 160K people with & a new Govt determined to deliver the manifesto of a different party - the Brexit Party - a hard “no deal” which has been rejected by majority of the people & MPs. True cannot stand by any longer.

By the minute it is clear - the Conservative Party led by is no longer a broad church, no longer the party of business, no longer the party of competence.

"Britain needs a PM we can be proud of, who will be honest with voters about Brexit, take the matter back to the British people and campaign to stay in the EU. Then we can get on - reunite our country and tackle the causes of Brexit." 3/3

“Johnson has already proved to be the most divisive PM ever and that’s just in his own party. His record of ineptitude and irresponsibility is why he’s widely seen as the worst Foreign Secretary in living memory.” 2/3

“Based on his commitment to a ‘do or die’ no-deal Brexit, Boris Johnson’s election as Conservative leader marks a profound shift to the right, where the ideology of a tiny minority trumps the interests of the overwhelming majority of British people.” 1/3

It’s ridiculous we have a housing crisis yet still build too few affordable homes as a country. My call today for a scheme to support small construction firms, who used to deliver two-thirds of new housing in UK ➡️

UK tanker seizure by Iran was so predictable - but we had no adequate strategy in place to protect shipping in the Straits of Hormuz. It’s yet more evidence of a dysfunctional Govt & a Conservative party more interested in self survival than protecting our country’s interests

Nobody should have to endure such abuse and intimidation. Solidarity and respect to my colleague for standing up to those who try to shout her down.

Parliament takes back control. Big defeat for those Johnson supporters planning a constitutional coup. 315 to 274.

will start his premiership with a Parliament that will not allow him to impose a on our country & most importantly a large group of Conservative MPs that will stand up to him. The ensuing chaos & uncertainty will be ‘s biggest legacy
