I don't think it's self-interested behaviour.
If he was interested in keeping his safe seat, he'd have stayed with Labour.
He got things wrong 3 years ago which he has now put right? OK.
He's not the problem.
The Labour Party is the problem. The Tories are scary. Farage too.

We need an anti-totalitarian movement which can organise the defence of our democracy against the Stalinist populists of the left and the isolationist populists of the right.
Chuka is doing what he can to help build that.
The Labour Party is part of the problem not the solution.
