We can all relate to having an itch you just can’t quite scratch. Persistence is the key though and with a little ear adjustment (and the assistance of a tree) orphan Dololo’s got this one covered.

When orphaned Enkesha first arrived in our care after her rescue, she would dive into the mud bath to soothe her injured trunk. 2 years on, her trunk has healed but she’s still a mud baby & loves to wallow to her hearts content:

Suswa & Rorogoi are two orphans at our Voi Reintegration Unit. They are still milk dependent but, thanks to regular interactions with wild herds, they will be ready to ‘fly the nest’ & reintegrate into wild herds in a few years’ time

As the orphans in our care grow older, they acquire the social skills & confidence they need to reintegrate into wild herds. In good news, Sattao, especially, has been growing in confidence and playing with orphans he doesn’t usually interact with.

In June, Emoli graduated to Voi. We're pleased to report he's been settling in just fine, which is no surprise really, considering he was rescued from the area and might have some memory of the Tsavo environment
