Swindon owes 10% of its GVA to the manufacture of transport equipment.
Only a handful of towns have a higher proportion.

Why companies both overplay and underplay Brexit:
a) easy excuse when things go bad
b) If you're a big international firm that sells consumer goods, and you want to close UK ops coz of Brexit, why antagonise big chunk of UK customer base (Leave voters) by saying so explicitly?

I suppose the proof would be if Honda also decides to shut its plant in Turkey, which is about to agree trade with Japan and already has a customs union with the EU

What worries me - Honda pulling out of Swindon might cause BMW make up its mind about the Mini plant in Stratton. And not in a good way.
Gravity at work.

Stockpiling hurts operating profit -- which means less money for investment even if Brexit goes well.

Stockpiling - it's happening. But what are the financial implications for manufacturers?
They're big -- even if Brexit turns out well.
We took a look at a children's bike manufacturer @Islabikes. reuters.com/article/uk-bri…

Jeremy Corbyn giving nothing away as he leaves his home this morning.
Journalists: Are you expecting resignations? Is the Labour party in trouble?
Corbyn: "Good morning how nice to see you all here this morning, good morning how nice to see you and goodbye."
