Hmmm, are you trying to say that Germany is a dictatorship like Russia because Merkel competed and won numerous times in real democratic competitions? I don't seem to recall her opponents being killed, imprisoned or exiled like Putin has done in Russia.

After MONTHS of asking, I finally got a reply from the NZ Govt re Magnitsky. Not the one I wanted but it gives me a clear baseline so I now know what to do to get from there to where we need to be, Leave it with me :) (but lots of support appreciated please, Kiwis!).

The New Zealand gov’t gave a total non answer when asked why they don’t have a Magnitsky Act. The US, Canada and the U.K. gave exactly the same non answers before finally passing their own Magnitsky Acts. I’m sure New Zealand will eventually follow in due course

Bill, I found myself in a place last week where I needed to explain the Magnitsky Act (from scratch) which included "who is Bill Browder" and the whole history and ... I'm proud to say, it was easy, and it needed no defence, and engendered full support for your mission.

Not sure why the Russian gov’t is proud that their foreign minister Sergei Lavrov has been on the job for 15 years. It’s just a sign that there’s no democracy in Russia where new leaders come in to replace the old ossified ones. This would never be possible in a normal country

Just finished reading ’s outstanding book. Last November, Russia Today identified a group of us as members of a British spy ring, which I shrugged off due to its numerous factual errors and overall absurdity. I now realize they were simply trying to intimidate us...

Scandalous. Recall Bombardier successfully lobbied the Canadian Government to keep corrupt & criminal Putin officials off of our Magnitsky justice and accountability list. Targeted sanctions implementation should be revisited in light of this.

Sergei Magnitsky’s murder in Russia is having consequences far beyond what we could ever imagined when we began our campaign for justice. Check out this story from the ⁦:⁩ “Magnitsky sanctions make for risky business in Latin America”

Just had a rather heated discussion with about the journalistic qualities of the story on law. She compared it to Johan Bäckman’s nationalistically Russia-minded trolling, whereas I see it as a normal piece of journalistic work.

The simply reported that is trying to remove Sergei Magnitsky’s name from the EU Magnitsky Act. Now she’s accusing the publication of trolling. Hate to break it to you Heidi, but they didn’t care about you until you started to do Putin’s bidding

Just spotted this. Two more American detained in Russia. This time the Russians have taken two mormon missionaries hostage.

The takeaway of the dominoes is how global in reach & massive in scale the Russian-originating 2007-15 laundering is. Svedbank alone is accused of $176M-not separate from Nordea- part of $226B Danske Bank scandal. ⁦Bravo, relentless ⁦

I just finished . Extraordinary story. It's unsettling that Putin is now trying to subvert the truth on an international scale to create a world in which the Magnitsky Act cannot survive. Thank you for all the powerful work you have done and continue to do.

Totally disingenuous. You hosted the screening of your boyfriend, Andrei Nekrasov’s anti Magnitsky film at the European Parliament in 2016 where Natalia Veselnitskaya and Magnitsky sanctioned Pavel Karpov and Andrei Pavlov attended. You can’t worm your way out of this one
