Hello Blogland!! I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday and last few days of 2012!!! Wow has time passed by quickly!!

I’ve been incognito the last few days. I’ve been off  (until Jan 2nd!!)and taking down all of the Christmas stuff. I love it but I was truly ready for it to be gone. And when you have a metric ton of decorations it takes a bit!! Then I cleaned the house really well and drug out the 3 bins of snowman stuff to put out!!  All I need to do it take down the garlands and such outside.

This week was my one-year Blogaversary!!! I can’t believe I’ve been a supermodel for a whole year!!! It’s been a blast! I’ve gotten over my hesitance for having my picture taken, met lots of wonderful friends and really learned a lot about myself!  I pulled up my first outfit post for a laugh!!

And here I am one year later!! I’m rocking the awesome scarf sweet Krista and Peetee sent me!

Shoes-Payless, Sweater, Trousers & Tshirt-thrifted

I’ve become more daring and colorful this past year thanks to all of your inspiration and encouragement!! 2013 will see me spreading my feathers even more! I’m planning to slide on into full vegetarianism and hopefully that will kick-start the weight-loss again. I caught the Salvation Army $1 woman’s clothing sale last week and I have a new-to-me hot pink chiffon 70’s maxi dress I want to stuff my boobage into this spring!! And a cool orange doubleknit 60’s mini-dress is waiting for me!!

Not that I make resolutions and all that crapola. I just plan to get healthier, thrift more cool stuff, sew more clothing, and create more art. To that end-this is what my work table looks like today. I have TONS of ephemera-old books, pictures, magazine and odds and ends. I decided to stop collecting (hoarding) and USE it. I’m going to make art cards and spread the love this year!

I usually set my tripod up next to the recliner when I take my outfit photo. If I turn the camera this is who is supervising the camera-shot for me!

Warning: Lot’s of doggie cuteness ahead!!!

Hello Blogland!!! I hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas!!!  There will be no outfit posts as I wore a variation of the Christmas vest and tshirt combo the last couple of days. I’m off today (Boxer Day) because I’ve come down with a nasty cold AND it’s snowing again so work was going to be closing early anyway.

We were surprised on Christmas Eve with SNOW!!!! We weren’t expecting but a few flurries but wound up with 4 inches!!! It was just so so beautiful. It was a beast to drive in as we had gone to town to get dinner and then ride around and look at lights. Got the dinner then came home. I took some pictures of our christmas lights in the snow as this is an unusual event here in Maryland!

I have to say the Diva is MOST annoyed with this cold white stuff!!! She took one look at it Monday night and then peed on the porch!!! MrBill is confused but he likes to snuffle around in it.

I received the most wondrous package on Christmas Eve from sweet Krista and Peetee!! There were awesome goodies for me and the Diva and MrBill!!!

As many of you know, we have a chihuahua grand-puppy named Noelle. She was our daughter’s
Christmas gift last year from her now-hubby. She is SPOILED rotten and cute as can be!!! I made her a Poochie Pouch for Christmas. She loves hers, too!

Santa-hubby gave me a Kindle fire HD Tablet for Christmas so I have a new toy to play with while I’m lagging about in the recliner hacking up my lungs. I LOVE IT!!!!! Much easier than trying to balance the laptop and two dogs in my lap!!! I’m bookmarking all of your wonderful blog addresses on it!!!!

Hello Blogland!!! How is everyone this wonderful weekend before Christmas??? Everyone have their shopping done and their gifts wrapped???

I’m enjoying the bliss of having NOTHING TO DO this weekend!! I took time to organize the closet and drawers and do some purging. I hadn’t planned on it but a local family lost their home in a fire Saturday morning and they are doing a clothing drive. So happens the lady of the family wears the same size as I do (except shoes) so I took the opportunity to really clear stuff out to give to her.  I get a neater closet and she’ll have some clothes to wear. (it’s harder to get donations of plus size clothes so I’m told)

The diva is feeling much better and thanks all of her admirers for their good wishes and love. Her tummy is still a bit upset so I’m going to fix up some ground turkey and rice for her. I just have to pretend I’m spooning it from the yellow Pedigree dogfood can or her highness will turn her nose up at it!!

Friday nite after the homeless feeding the hubster had to go to church to work as an usher for that nights Christmas program. He never had a chance to eat so he stopped for fast food on the way home. His girls wanted his attention AND his burger!!

The silver cat is Misty, the tortie is Calliekins.

I wore the gorgeous vest that Crystal my swap partner sent to church. I got so many compliments on it and felt very festive!!! Since we are empty nester Lauren and I go out to dinner on christmas Eve and ride around looking at lights so I’ll be sporting it agin tomorrow!

Hello Blogland!!! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week thus far. I finally succumbed to the crud today and stayed home from work. Slept until 2pm but the fever is gone and I’m starting to feel human again.

Sunday I dressed the Diva up in a Christmas dress and MrBill in his matching tie for a photo-shoot. I have to put them in the chair to contain the Diva as she like to hop around when getting her picture taken. As usual–she’s all over the place posing and MrBill looks like he wants to be invisible. Yesterday’s outfit started out as blah but it wound up getting compliments. I intended to wear a brown & raspberry paisley T shirt but the hem was out so at 5am I just pulled the first thing I saw that matched the pants I had on already.

Hello Blogland!! How is everyone this weekend????? My heart is still heavy but life is moving on. Our children gave their Christmas program this morning at church. It was so sweet to see them perform. We have several budding “hams” in that group!

Lots of outfits to catch up with! I’ve been a bit hunkered down fighting off some sort of crud. Tis the season!! I haven’t got time to be sick!! We are feeding the homeless (our church) this Friday and I have 100 Red Velvet Peppermint cupcakes to make and a big pan of rice for the chili the hubster is making . I know chili and rice sounds a tad odd for a christmas dinner but it was requested. He makes it for the weekly feeding once a month and our “guests” love it. A church next to the parking lot where we set up to feed has allowed us to use their hall and kitchen so we can have a nice Christmas party for these folks.

So hunkered down over the laptop with a cup of eggnog and a piece of fruitcake–away we go!

Wednesday:Everything you can see is thrifted except the coral blouse which was from DressBarn

Thursday: All thrifted except shoes from Payless. I just got the dark floral top.

I got my hair cut Wednesday. Another step closer to natural silver!  My hairdresser says it’ll all out by February and I can be rocking my Jamie Lee Curtis look!!

Friday: Sweater & shoes thrifted. Jreans-Walmart, blouse-???? brought years ago. Tie-Vintage

Friday was our work Christmas party. I work in Engineering for the Department of Public Works for a large military base. We had our party in the roads and grounds shop, surrounded by equipment. Casual was the name of the game!! The shoes were just thrifted this week for $4–they are Timberland maryjanes and SO COMFORTABLE- they had never been worn as the little loop for the button was loose. A bit of glue fixed that up.

My necktie was my Dad’s. It’s a vintage wool from Scotland in his clan tartan-Ferguson. It’s rather short in length and didn’t fit my 6ft+ nephews so I inherited it.

All but boots (Kmart) are thrifted. Who says leopard velvet isn’t festive

Hello all.   I just can’t bring myself to post an outfit picture in light of what occurred in Connecticut yesterday. It just seems so trivial now.

I have been weeping ever since. As a former Kindergarten teacher, I can just picture those sweet , little faces. It is unimaginable to me what has happened.

Maybe they were going to see Santa this weekend. At their age most probably still believed and were so excited about Christmas.  And in an instant…….never again.

Meanwhile the politician’s try to capitalize on this and the media jackal’s swarm for ratings.  And a world looks on feeling helpless. All we can do is pray for those left behind.

This Christmas some families won’t be gathering around a tree, but around a grave.

It brings to mind the song “Tears in Heaven”, written by Eric Clapton after the tragic death of his son, who was around the age of these children. I’ll leave you with this.
