DC Snow Team to Deploy Ahead of Monday’s Wintry Mix, Cold Emergency Plan Remains Activated

To prepare, the DC Snow Team will deploy more than 200 trucks to salt District roads on Monday, January 8 starting at 9 am.

The number of students enrolled in public schools in DC increased for the 11th consecutive year, reaching 94,603, with DC Public Schools (DCPS) exceeding 50,000 students for the first time since 2006, according to preliminary data released by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE). These unaudited numbers show a 1.7% increase overall across DC – or 1,587 additional students – over last school year.
Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser was joined by DC Office of Planning (OP) Director Andrew Trueblood to release the Mayor’s Housing Equity Report and the District’s draft Comprehensive Plan proposal.
