Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day – hope you’re having a great week! I’ve popped in today with a fun card I created for Gecko Galz Blog. I love shaker cards and it’s been a while since I created one, so I thought this was the perfect time. This was the last Christmas card I made for this year’s stash. I used paper from the Miss Muffet Paper Pack and an image from the adorable Winter Blessings Collage Sheet. OMG, I had a hard time picking just one image, lol!

I created a frame from silver glitter cardstock using two rectangle dies. I adhered yellow foil Washi Paper to white cardstock and cut a layering panel as well as a stitched star die cut. I layered the Curly Locks paper from the Miss Muffet Paper Pack onto the yellow foil panel. I created a banner and heat embossed the sentiment on the right side of it. Using my fuse tool, I created a shaker pouch and inserted glitter, sequins, seed beads and a tiny bit of baby powder (to help with static cling), and sealed it shut. I sandwiched the shaker pouch between the frame and the image, and adhered it to the card base over the left side of the banner.

I embellished the inside panel with a leftover strip of the paper and foil used on the front, stamped a sentiment and layered the panel on yellow cardstock.

Christmas Gift Card Holders (set of 4)

Hello, my crafty peeps! Happy Hump Day! Christmas will be here in about a week and a half and I have something F-U-N to share with you! Today is my post day on the Simply Crafty SVGs Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you, a set of four Christmas Gift Card Holders that have already been mailed and have reached their destination! I can’t get over how fun these are to make! Sandy has done all the work – all you have to do is cut ’em with your electronic die cut machine and put ’em together with a little glue!

The first one is an adorable snowman created with the Snowman Gift Card Holder cut file. I used white, black and deep red cardstock along with some plaid paper for his scarf. I used a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen on some of the lines on his scarf.


Next we have a super fun elf shoe created with the Elf Shoe Gift Card Holder cut file. I used mint green cardstock and a coordinating patterned paper. I embellished the pom-poms and some of the dots on the patterned paper with a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.


Next up is a pair of adorable wrapped gifts created with the Presents Gift Card Holder cut file. I used red and green striped papers and coordinating cardstock. I colored some of the lines on both packages with a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.


And finally, we have a beautiful Christmas tree created with the Christmas Tree Gift Card Holder cut file. I used green and yellow cardstock and embellished the tree with various colors of Dot Sparklers for the lights. I am so smitten with all of these!

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! A new challenge has launched this morning over at Stinkin’ Inkers Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for our Winter Wonderland challenge! We’d love to see you create something this month that reminds you of Winter! I created another Christmas card for my pile featuring Santa and his reindeer flying through the sky on a snowy Winter night!

I inked the background with several shades of blue distress ink, along with one purple shade. I started with the lightest, then using slightly darker ink with each layer around the outside of the panel, I left the center slightly lighter to depict moonlight. I splattered water with a fan brush and when that dried, I splattered Copic Opaque White pigment mixed with a tiny bit of water with the fan brush to mimmick snowfall, and then affixed the panel to the card base. I punched a circle of white cardstock for the moon and slightly inked it, and then cut the cityscape nightline from navy blue cardstock. I added these elements to the panel and colored the window openings in all the buildings with a mechanical pencil. I stamped Santa and his reindeer and the sentiment, and then added several tiny gemstones in the sky.

For the inside, I cut a white panel which I layered on navy blue cardstock and left just a tiny bit of border showing on all four sides. I added a leftover navy blue cardstock strip to the left side, stamped the sentiment and affixed the panel to the card base.

Snow Queen

** 12/7/18 Top 5 at QKR Stampede! **

Hi everyone! A brand new challenge is live over at Gecko Galz this morning and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for the December “Snow Queens” Customer Challenge!

The Winter Release is here and I used an absolutely gorgeous image from the Snow Queens 2 Collage Sheet and Fairyland paper from the Neverland Paper Collection. What gorgeous blues, don’t you agree?!

I layered the background paper on black cardstock and adhered it to the blue card base. I cut the image and the ‘snow queen’ name from the collage sheet. I applied Versamark over the entire image and then embossed it with Sparkle embossing powder and again with clear embossing powder to lock in the sparkle. I layered the image on black cardstock and again on silver mirror cardstock, adhered Foamies foam to the back, layered it on cream cardstock, and then adhered the piece to the background panel. I adhered the ‘snow queen’ name under the layered image.

For the inside, I layered the cream panel on black cardstock, embellished it with a strip of the leftover paper from the front, and stamped a sentiment.

Here’s one more look… you can just barely see the sparkle in the photo but it looks amazing in real life! Super happy with how this turned out!

Let it Snow

Hello, my crafty friends! Here we are, diving into the last month of the year! A new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you for LTSCB #116 – Season’s Greetings! We are being sponsored this month by DRS Designs and I used the super cute Vertical Let It Snow stamp. This was such a fun card to create and has been added to my Christmas card stash!

I cut a bi-level card base, meaning the front flap is cut about an inch shorter than the back. I used a scallop edge punch and backed it with a piece of gold mirror cardstock that was also cut with the scallop edge punch. I used a clear sparkle overlay marker on the snowman to give him a little ‘snowy’ shimmer, and a snow marker with heat tool on the SNOW letters for a little ‘snowy’ interest.

For the inside, I used a piece of brick wall patterned paper on the right side which shows when the card is closed. I printed a large digital sentiment and cut it with a dotted rectangle die and aligned it with the edge of the patterned paper.

Thinking of you at Christmas

Hi everyone! Happy December 1st! A new challenge is live over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog this morning and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #5 – December Anything Christmas Goes! I created a corner fold card to add to my pile of Christmas cards. I’ve made a couple of these in the past and really love how they turn out!

The cardstock, paper, stamps and inks are all from Stampin’ Up. I used the traditional green and red Christmas colors with a pop of gold. I watercolored the holly leaves and added some shimmer, and used red gemstones for the berries.

I added a scalloped border punched from DSP to the bottom of the front and the bottom of the inside panel for a little interest. Love how this turned out!

Hello, crafty friends! Well, it’s the first of the month and you know what that means… lots of posts! So thanks for hanging in there with me while I showcase some fun DT inspiration projects I’ve been busy working on! A new challenge launched this morning over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my project for MIUCB #20 – Anything Goes + No Stamping! Remember that our challenges are always ‘anything goes’ plus we offer a different technique twist each month to inspire you but the twist is not required to play! This month the twist is ‘no stamping!’ I’m wondering if you’ll find that to be as challenging as I did, lol!

I used Canvas Corp Brands ‘A Bit of Feathers’ and ‘A Day At The Beach’ Paper Collections to create my Beach Bums card. I had a particular friend in mind when I created this, and I think she’s going to love it!

I punched some beach shell elements, inked the edges and layered them in a cluster on the front panel. I fashioned a bow from twine and tucked it beneath the starfish element on the right side, then created a tag with rounded corners, an eyelet and twine, and adhered it on the top of the cluster. To finish the front, I added the Beach Bums sentiment and some pearls.

I kept the inside panel fairly simple – I just inked the edges, added a paper strip along the left side and layered it on black cardstock. I leave the inside panel blank on a lot of my cards blank so a custom message can be written. But this time I left the inside blank because of the ‘no stamping’ twist in the challenge!
