The LINGUIST List will be on holiday recess from Monday, December 17, 2018 until Thursday, January 3, 2019. During this time, with the exception of emergencies, issues might be posted on an irregular basis. Although the website is available, some pages may not be updated during that time. Except for emergencies, we cannot promise to process submissions that we receive after December 17 in a timely manner until after we return on January 3, 2019.

The ALL Project

With a grant from the NSF National Science Digital Library Initiative (NSDL-0333530; 2003-2005), this two-year collaboration with the Rosetta Project resulted in the creation of a digital library of educational information on approximately 4000 languages and supported the development of a browsable, searchable Directory of Linguists.

The Directory listing currently stands at nearly 20,000 names, records which include subfield and language specialties, current affiliations, publications, and in many cases, contact information, all to facilitate research and strengthen our global networking capabilities.
