Moonlight 2016
So I loved this and it blew me away, containing so much in unsaid moments, in contrasts, in bursts of energy, just a supremely designed, fantastic film in every way BUT there was a group of Intellectuals who left the theatre ahead of me who were talking about how Chiron just, like, couldn't possibly be gay because that makes no sense and I really hate them

C.H.U.D. 1984
I do wish we had seen a little bit more Monster Action and by the time this reaches the last 20 minutes it has basically stopped being a horror movie entirely but overall I really liked C.H.U.D. and I'm pretty upset that I waited this long to watch it (when it's been on my radar for a long time) and while it's evidently semi-amateur and low-budget it's actually surprising how well it handles its ensemble cast.
