Very minor, but successful in its modest goals.

White people suck. Craig Robinson is very good. More people should see this movie.

Not quite TAKE SHELTER levels of "this will stick with you for months," but a very impressive film. I don't think this has a chance of duping people into buying into it as a blockbuster the way SUPER 8 did, which is unfortunate, because this is exactly the kind of off-kilter crowd-pleaser Spielberg staked his whole career on in the 70s.
