| January 9, Monday | Second-term classes begin. |
| January 17, Tuesday | Senate meeting. |
| January 20, Friday | No registration or course changes for second-term courses will be permitted after this date. The method of determining final grades in second-term courses must be submitted to, and approved by the Department Chairs/School Directors and the Dean prior to this date. Revised grades or approved extension dates for students assessed an Incomplete ("I") in first-term courses must be submitted by Department Chairs/School Directors to the Office of the Registrar prior to this date. If revised grades or approved extension dates have not been submitted prior to this date, an automatic "F" will be recorded on the student's academic record. |
| January 27, Friday | Applications for graduation at the Spring Convocation must be submitted prior to this date. Students withdrawing from full-year courses after this date will receive an "F" on their academic record. |
| February 3, Friday | Revisions to the method of determining final grades for second-term courses must be submitted to, and approved by Department Chairs/School Directors and the Dean prior to this date. |
| February 14, Tuesday | Senate meeting. |
| February 20, Monday | Founders' Day and Family Day |
| February 20 to 26 | Study Week. |
| March 3, Friday | Students withdrawing from second-term courses after this date will receive an "F" on their academic record. |
| March 21, Tuesday | Senate meeting. |
| March 24, Friday | Examination questionnaires for full-year and second-term courses must be submitted by the academic units to the Office of the Registrar prior to this date. |
| April 7, Friday | Last day of Winter Session classes. |
| April 10 to 29 | Examination period for Winter Session. |
| April 14, Friday | Good Friday – University closed. |
| April 17, Monday | Easter Monday – University closed. |
| April 18, Tuesday | Senate meeting. |
| April 21 to May 12 | Submission of final grades for Winter Session courses. |
| May 3, Wednesday | Prospective graduands for the Spring Convocation must have all course and thesis requirements completed and approved by Department or School prior to this date. All Final Grades for Prospective graduands must be submitted by the Department Chairs/School Directors to the Office of the Registrar prior to this date. |
| May 10, Wednesday | Special meeting of Senate Committee on Academic Regulations and Awards to consider Spring graduands. |
| May 16, Tuesday | Senate meeting. |
| May 19, Friday | Revised grades or approved extension dates for students assessed an incomplete ("I") in Winter Session courses must be submitted by Department Chairs/School Directors to the Office of the Registrar prior to this date. |
| May 22, Monday | Victoria Day – University closed. |
| May 30 to June 3 | Spring Convocation (Sudbury campus). |
| May 1, Monday | Courses begin. All online/distance courses run for 12 weeks. |
| May 5, Friday | No registrations or changes after this date for all online/distance courses. |
| May 19, Friday | Deadline for registering your exam location for each of your online/distance courses at www.laurentian.ca/exam |
| May 22, Monday | University is closed. Victoria Day. |
| June 16, Friday | If you withdraw from an online/distance course after this date, you will receive an “F.” |
| July 3, Monday | University is closed. Canada Day. |
| July 20, Thursday | Courses end. |
| July 21-29 |
Final exams for online/distance courses * Exam schedules will be sent to your Laurentian email account (@laurentian.ca) approximately six (6) weeks prior to the exams. |
| August 24, Thursday | Last day to apply for graduation for Fall Convocation 2017 |
| October 28, Saturday | Fall Convocation 2017 |
