GPX Import

Currently we only support importing .gpx Files.

The reduction is only applied for routing, not for displaying the overlay. Currently we support no more than 200 waypoints, but I recommend to stay below 50, since adding more points might negatively impact your experience. A guide about import GPX Tracks can be found here. If your route contains less waypoints than specified nothing will be removed.

Route Export

You have to select at least one option.
Kurviger is now available as Android app Get it on Google Play

General export advice

In order to get an exact copy of the Kurviger Route, I recommend exporting the Track. However, some navigation devices handle the Route or Waypoints better, so you really need to try which works best for you. Adding additional waypoints is a good idea to keep your navi closer to the Kurviger route.
If you are using an Android device, I recommend using the Kurviger Pro app.
If you are using an iOS device, I recommend using the Scenic app.

Export to the Kurviger app (Android+iOS)

Use the Kurviger app to get the same results as you see on the website. Sending a route to the Kurviger app is straightforward, the best option is to use the share dialog, which is located next to the delete button. Click the button and you will see a QR code, simply scan the code with your Smartphone. It will open the Kurviger app showing the same route you planned on you desktop. You can also send the URL or transfer the route via GPX. If you using GPX I recommend only ticking the Waypoints option in Kurviger.

The Kurviger app is available as free version, which provides you the same functionality as the website.
The Kurviger Pro version offers you a lot more features, like turn-by-turn navigation, offline maps, and longer roundtrips.
If you are on iOS, you can use the Scenic app which provides you the same curvy algorithm.

Importing a Kurviger route to a Garmin Zumo using BaseCamp

Once you downloaded a GPX file from Kurviger, open it in BaseCamp. If everything worked out you will see some waypoints, a straight route between the waypoints, and a track. The track should be equal to the route calculated by Kurviger. You can convert the Kurviger track to a Garmin route, if you change the BaseCamp profile to <code>Direct Route</code>, Before the conversion you will be asked about the number of route points that should be considered. Using the option <code>automatically select</code> should be fine. Typically you should end up seeing a route that is pretty similar to the route calculated by Kurviger. <br> <br> Attention: I translated this text without assuring that the options exactly match my translations (I don't use BaseCamp personally). If a name of an option does not match the actual name in BaseCamp, please send me a mail and I will correct it.
Thanks to Jörgen for creating the BaseCamp tutorial.

Importing a route from Kurviger to a TomTom device

If your TomTom supports GPX files, just use the GPX file. Otherwise, there are TomTom devices that support GPX2ITN. For these devices, you should export the track from Kurviger and connect your TomTom to your computer. Copy the downloaded GPX file to your TomTom device into the folder GPX2ITN. Disconnect the TomTom from your computer. Turn your device on. When the conversion has finished you can load your route. In the main menu, tap "Manage itineraries" and "Open". More details can be found at the TomTom support page.

Importing a route from Kurviger to Be-On-Road and an iPhone (iOs)

First, you have to export the route from Kurviger (I recommend you to add additional waypoints). In iTunes, with a connected iPhone, click on the iPhone symbol, go to "Apps" and scroll to the bottom. There you will find Apps that allow you to exchange data with. Choose Be-On-Road and import the route that you just downloaded from Kurviger. From Be-On-Road choose "Destination" and then "Routeplanner". Use the "Load" symbol (the box with the arrow) on the lower edge to import the route. Choose the route and load it. Now you should see the waypoints of the loaded route. You can delete selected waypoints by touching them and choose delete in the dialog. Thanks to Marcus for providing these instructions.

Importing a route from Kurviger to Sygic and an iPhone/iPad (iOs)

You should have installed DropBox and IITNConverter. If you have never saved a route as favorite in Sygic, you should first save a route as favorite, before continuing. In Sygic, setup DropBox and log into your DropBox. Plan a route using Kurviger and export it as Gpx-file using the route option and additional waypoints. You have to convert the Gpx-file using ITNconverter to the .itf format (Sygic GPS Navigation 13,14,15,16). In DropBox go to Apps -> Sygic All regions -> res -> itinerary and copy your route to that path. Use your iPad or iPhone and open Sygic. On the top right next to "Search", you have to click on the small flag. You will see a menu, choose favorites. The route should be listed there. Important: unfortunately, the route will not be displayed by the saved name. There will be either a duplicated route or the route will be named by the start or end point of your route. Thanks to Achim for providing these instructions.

Importing a route from Kurviger to CoPilot and an Android

You should have installed CoPilot on your Android. To the best of my knowledge, you need the pro version of CoPilot for importing routes. Export your itinerary from Kurviger using the Waypoints option and the .trp Format (I recommend you to add additional waypoints). Connect your Android device to your computer. You should see your Android device from within your file explorer. Copy the downloaded .trp file to your Android device into the folder SD card\Android\data\com.alk.copilot.*\files\EUsave, whereas the asterisk marks the actual installed version of CoPilot. Start CoPilot and go to Route -> Plan or Edit Route -> Load -> choose the route.

Is it possible to send the route to my navigation device using my smartphone/tablet?

If your mobile device supports USB OTG, it is possible. You just need to buy a USB OTG adapter (quite cheap at mostly every electronics store). Connect the adapter to the USB port of your mobile device and to your navigation device. You should be able to see your navigation device in a file explorer on your mobile device (e.g. ES File Explorer). Copy a downloaded route file to your navigation device as you would do from your computer. We tested this with a Zumo 550 and a TT Rider 400.
The routes from Kurviger are for planning purposes only. You may find that construction projects, traffic, weather, or other events may cause some roads to be impassable. You should plan your route accordingly. You must obey all signs, laws, or notices regarding your route.
