Is Krystals' SSD Cloud VPS for me?

Krystals' SSD Cloud VPS (Kloud) is a Virtual Private Server (VPS) environment and as such requires a certain level of technical ability to manage. This could be you, your company, a 3rd party IT company or us via our server management upgrade (see below). If you're just looking for shared web hosting to get a site or two online you'll probably be better served by one of our SSD Web Hosting or SSD Reseller Hosting plans as they come bundled with all the support and licenses you'll need.

Where are you located?

We're a 100% UK-based team. All of our servers are located in an ex-MOD bunker outside of London and the M25. It’s 25m underground and has 3m thick concrete walls and N+1 power and cooling. There’s 24/7 security and CCTV, a 2m barbed wire fence, ex-MOD/police staff, and comprehensive hardware & software firewalls.

Can I upgrade later?

An emphatic yes! It's ridiculously simple to upgrade your VPS. We've built Kloud to ensure that as your business/traffic increases, we can help you grow with it. We can scale up your single VPS with more resources (typically in less than a minute) or scale it out by moving to load balancing over multiple virtual machines.

Do you own your kit?

Yes! We own all our own equipment, from servers to network and everything in between. That means that we're fully in control of the service we deliver. Lots of other hosting companies act as middlemen, renting hardware from the big boys and outsourcing the task of maintaining and running it. That’s not how we like to do things—we cut out these middlemen so that we can maximise performance and reliability.

Do you provide managed servers?

We'll look after the hardware, replacing any broken components and also ensure power and network availability but Kloud servers aren't managed by default. However, our server management upgrade (available as you check out) adds your machine to our internal monitoring processes and we'll also install a suite of software that we've developed over a decade to help keep your server secure and in top working condition. We'll also help you with the setup of your server, configuration/tweaking of software and advise on migrating accounts.

What if I'm unhappy with my cloud VPS after signup?
