Note how he looks good in that hat, that is because the hat compliments the rest of his attire, the hat is not meant to stand out too much.
This is how you wear ANY type of hat

Now here is why fedora shaming is a thing
1) They are worn very incorrectly without the right suit or look very out of place
2) They are worn by certain individuals who believe that it will make them “cool”, “classy” and even “edgy” in a last ditch attempt at socialising through appearance disregarding how that idea lasts less than 5 seconds into an actual conversation with them.
3) The people seen wearing them are pretentious bastards trying to look cool whilst spouting self-righteous arse and inane warble, i.e MRA’s “Enlightened” atheists, and much of the sorry dregs of reddit and livejournal.
