Welcome to my blog. I’m Jean-Paul. Guido is my husband. I design things for a living. How I graduated from art school is still anyone’s guess. My mother has this strange fantasy that one day I’ll give up doodling and become a celebrity dentist. She often refers to my 30s as my rebellious years. Guido’s a chef. His big hobby is chopping garlic. He obviously should get out more. We live in the loft above his bistro – The Spanish Onion – it’s a stone’s throw from London Bridge.
We’re just two guys living in London, trying to make it, make out, and stay sane together.
Hi there! Great blog. My husband and I just found it. Can’t wait to read everything you have here. : )

I just found you your blog- its delightful reading. Also, lovely to hear you’re getting married. Is the Spanish Onion real or a ‘pseudonym’? I ask because hubby and i will be in London for Christmas and it would be fun to come by for dinner.

Hi Daryl – Thank you for your kind comments about my little blog. London is a wonderful place to spend Christmas. Opening times of The Spanish Onion during the run up to the festive period are still be decided (historically we close) but do watch this space! In the meantime I hope you will continue reading, and enjoying my posts.

Well, we made it for Christmas- London really does itself up well! We even passed through Bermondsey (?) on our way to Spa Terminus. Definitely an area for exploring next visit with a bit more time to spare.
Still enjoying your posts and I realize its a bit late but Happy New Year to you both.

Pingback: 15 Things That Make Me Happy – Hugh's Views & News
Dear Jean-Paul
My Name is Martin Baltser and I am from Denmark, a gay male, and musician.
For some reason I came across your blog and felt like sharing my coming out story – that I made into A SONG. I am a 25-year-old guy that never had big problems with coming out. The only thing that hurt me was when I spontaneously told my dad over the phone one day, and he got disappointed and told me he had a hard time accepting that. It didn’t take long though before he got used to the thought, and today he is the best dad any guy could wish for.
I got quite a good feedback on my song ‘Masculinity’ and a lot of people wrote me that they were inspired by it. That’s why I am now working on my second album under the working-title ‘masculinity’ in Berlin. The album will include song about being gay in our modern society, and i would love to hear thoughts from the people around the word for more inspiration.
I would feel honored if you would listen and maybe even share my song to let people know that everything is going to be ok as long as you are yourself.
Here is the direct link:
I can of course send you more information if you are interested.
Keep up the inspiring work:)
