I've never heard of GearBest, but I do think you get what you pay for---what seems cheap initially may end up costing you a lot in the long run.

My first kit came from Makerfarm.com . Colin, the guy who makes the kits provides AMAZING customer service. Even years after original purchase. He's incredibly patient too. If you're looking to build your own printer, I highly recommend MakerFarm. If you're looking to buy a printer already built, Make Magazine has a lot of good info on 3d printer comparisons.

I do, I give my students pro-codes all the time. Some of them use it and then earn their own codes.

I haven't yet, but I plan to! Depending on the fiber, after the dyeing I'll card it into batts. The silk noil is for pops of color and texture. I left out the citric acid because I've come across some people who feel the citric acid dulls the shine of silk. There will definitely be more fiber Instructables to come :)

I haven't heard about judging in a while, I'm still interested.

I know I've mentioned this before, but being able to choose between t-shirts and aprons would be great. My students can always use new/more shirts, but only so many aprons can be used. Also, tote bags! Chip clips!

Hi! It actually softens up really quick in your hands. But you can also make it softer so it's more like a butter. When I poured this batch into the molds (a last minute decision) I wasn't sure it'd set. You can also adjust the amount of the ingredients (use less beeswax) to get a softer lotion.
