Former International Baccalaureate teacher at the Western Academy of Beijing. Previously worked at international schools in Venezuela and India. Over 20 years of teaching, with notable experience involving work with educational technology.
Previously a community college Student Life & Leadership Development Coordinator, Jimil is finishing her M.S.Ed in Education, Culture and Society at the University of Pennsylvania and is continuing her Ph.D in the same program. Her research interests surround youth, new media, and resistance.
Most recently the college guidance counselor for Beijing BISS International School. In addition to experience working with talented science students and at the International School of Beijing, she also spent time at the American International School in Dhaka.
Previously worked at the National Institutes of Health focusing on national and international public health research and policy. She holds a Master of Public Health from Columbia University and majored in biology at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.
Formerly the manager of an elite language school in Haidian and an instructor at the Beijing University of Agriculture, Jesse studied education at the University of Texas, Austin.
Most recently at QuestBridge, Gabriela earned her masters degree in higher education policy and enrollment management at Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, she also worked in the undergraduate admissions office as a graduate practicum student.
Formerly the head of data analytics for an anti-collision technology startup, Natalie also has a background in actuarial sciences and systems engineering. She has an engineering degree from Princeton University.
Born and raised on the El Paso-Ciudad Juárez border, Rachel worked as an interviewer in the admissions office while a student at Pomona College and is currently interviewing with InitialView for her third year. When not interviewing students, Rachel provides pro bono immigration legal services to borderland communities.
A former university guidance counselor at Yew Chung International School in Shanghai, Kelly is currently a college counselor in the Seattle area. She has previously worked at secondary schools in Saudi Arabia and Boston.
Current counselor with a focus on higher-ed access at The Posse Foundation in Miami. A former teacher in New York City, Jon earned his B.A. in psychology from Rutgers University and his M.Ed. in prevention science and practice from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Aya taught English in France and then earned her M.S.Ed in Education, Culture and Society from the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as a graduate assistant in the admissions office. Previously, she studied French and music at Stanford University.
