Russian and international experts shared the best practices of using ICT in education to achieve SDGs and preserve the World Heritage for future generations.

Themed “Education for All”, the event aimed to explore a shared future highlighting global education innovation, exchange and collaboration.

UNESCO IITE in collaboration with the Charity Fund "Woman Health and Family Planning" published an earlier developed Guidance for educators on violence prevention in educational institutes, organized a national presentation of the Guidance, and held teaching seminars on sexual and reproductive health, HIV, discrimination, and violence prevention among students, living with HIV, in educational institutions.

UNESCO IITE and W3C announced the launch of the Massive Open Online Course “Introduction to Web Accessibility”, built on the open curricula of the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).

In 2020, the overarching conference theme is “Building the Future of Business and Innovation: The Internet of Things (IOT) and People”.

The prize is awarded every two years and it recognizes initiatives that contribute to improving educational practices around the world. The deadline for submitting nominations has been extended to 15 February 2020 (midnight, Paris time).

The UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the use of ICT in education is now accepting candidatures.

The flagship ICT in education conference will be held from 2 to 6 March 2020 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
