Connecting a domain

Follow the instructions below to connect a domain you already own.

Login to your Weblium account.
Hover over a Pro site and click on Settings:

Navigate to the Domains tab and click on + Connect existing domain:

In the pop-up window enter the domain name and click Continue:

Follow the instructions you receive:

Here are the nameservers that you need to copy:

ns1.weblium.com ns2.weblium.com

Domain records will propagate within 24-48 hours and the site will be fully accessible with the custom domain name.

Connecting a domain with the help of an A record

In some cases it's recommended to connect a domain with the help of DNS records - for instance, if you want to manage the domain at your current host, if you are connecting a subdomain or if the domain registrar doesn't allow to change the NS records.

For that follow the instructions above, but switch the tab on step #5 to Via DNS records:

Editor: getting started

Weblium offers an easy-to-use site editor which allows you to create/ manage a site with just a few clicks.

To start working on a site, click Create New in the top right corner of your dashboard:

Here you will find all the available templates. Feel free to choose a ready-made design or a blank template:

Hover over the template to Preview it or Start Editing:

Bear in mind that all the templates are 100% customizable, so you will be able to change the style at any point of editing.

If you chose an empty template, click on Add Block:

On the left panel you will see all the available blocks - they are divided into Essential and Additional:

It’s up to you which of the blocks you wish to add to the site and which you can skip.

Click on the block itself to add it to the site.

While working on the site, you can preview how it will be displayed across different devices. For that,

Publishing a site

All the changes you make in the editor are saved automatically. However, for them to be displayed on the live site, the site has to be published. For that:

Open the editor by clicking Edit site:

Click Publish in the top right corner:

Done! Click Open or scan the QR code to view site in the browser:

Adding site title and description

This information will tell the search engines what your business is about. It will be displayed on the search results page in Google, Bing etc.:

To set it up, open the site settings in your account, select the General info tab and add Site title and Site Description:

It's generally recommended to add a unique page title and description for each page you’ve got.

For that select the page while in the editor, go to the settings and switch to the SEO tab. Click on Edit page info:

Alt-text is the image description which helps search engines better understand what the image is about and show it to the relevant queries. To add it, click on the image set

Customizing site preview in the social networks

You can choose which image and description about your Weblium site will be displayed when it is shared in Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc or in messengers.

For that, open a page in the editor, click on its settings and navigate to the Social Networks tab:

Here you can add page title, description and upload an image:

Click Done to finalize the process, then publish the site:

Drive traffic to your site, keep the site visitors posted on the news and share personal thoughts with the blog feature. It allows you to create and update content effortlessly, while having full control over the blog posts and their appearance.

Getting started with the blog

To start with, set up your author profile - it will be displayed globally on the blog posts that you add. For that open the site settings:

Navigate to the Blog tab:

Set your name and photo here:

Note: supported image formats are jpg, png, svg.

Creating a blog post

Create blog posts in the same Blog tab of the site settings. For that select a Published/ Drafts option and click Create post:

Tip: if you selected a Published option, but changed your mind - no worries: the post will be saved automatically in the Drafts tab for future use.
