People
"People" in publications refers to the writers and editors associated with a publication.
Editors and Writers List (Public)
To view a public list of writers and editors for your publication, go to your publication's home page, and click on "About" in the upper left corner:
You can also access this page directly, by adding "/about" to the end of your publication's URL, as in the example below:
https://medium.com/best-publication/about
People associated with your publication will be listed according to their role: editors or writers:

To modify people associated with your publication, you will have to edit the publication details. Go back to the publication home page.
Click on the down-arrow next to either "Owner" or "Editor" depending on your role:
A drop-down menu will appear. Click on "Edit".
