Happy Dragon Hostel - בייג'ינג

It was a great hostel with friendly personnel who was really helpfull. They worked really hard to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The bar had good, cheap food and you could order breakfast all day. They have a free pickup service from the train which was really helpfull. If I ever would go to Beijing again I would certainly stay here again.

I was staying there in private room for 5 days. *Very friendly and helpful staff *Rather good location- near subway-max 5 min walk (Dongsi station, line 5), from there good access everywhere. If you like to walk, you can even walk to Forbidden city and Tiananmen Sq. *And also they kept the room very clean- every day cleaning. *Also good air conditioning. *Very helpful mosquito repellent!:) *The little restaurant offered very nice breakfast and lunch, 25, 35+ yuans cost.

*Room was located in a noisy corridor- it was noisy til 12 at night and started to be noisy in 6-7 am, and also the window was facing the corridor and I had to cover it with curtains, so as it was a tiny room, it felt bit of clautrophobic. *Sometimes was bit difficult to make myself understood with English. *Difficult to access by taxi, when you come from airport, it may be difficult to find. Make a good homework before arriving!

The most guests are foreigners. The Hostel is near underground station and you can walk to the Forbidden city or to the shopping street, it is ca. 30 min. You can buy tour to the Great Wall at the receiption, it was really very nice trip. Wi-Fi was free in the room.

As I came they did not have a single room for me which I booked earlier. They gave me a room in the 'sister' Hotel in this district for 2 nights. Then I received my room in the Hostel.

Good Hostel not far from Wanfidjing street but unfortunately they not accept any credit card.

Great location for the subway (line 5, Dongsi), big lockers in the room (I could fit my 70cm tall suitcase in easily), friendly staff on the 24 hour reception, close to lots of small local restaurants for meals, rooms and bathroom cleaned every day. Plentiful supply of reasonable- quality toilet paper! Lamps, plug sockets and hangers next to every bed in the dorms, which is great, and curtains around the bottom bed of each bunk. Really convenient, well thought out rooms. The bar was also good, very friendly atmosphere!

No soap in the bathroom but that's hardly a huge problem. The bunk beds were a little bit hard I guess. But these are really trivial complaints - it's a great backpacker's hostel.

The very best thing about this hostel was the staff. The staff were super friendly and helpful and had an excellent grasp of English. They were keen to book trips for us but we had mostly already booked online. If I were to repeat this trip I would book trips around Beijing and surrounds eg Great Wall through the Hostel staff on arrival. Staff were wonderful!!!

Room a bit cramped and cannot flush toilet paper as it will block the system, but instead must place used paper in basket. (Staff clean up brilliantly though, and this is a backpackers, so we were a bit out of place as a mature couple, however staff were marvellous and did all they could to make us comfortable) The air-conditioner dripped on the pillow in the night and made a puddle on the bed. The TV was badly tuned. Very hard to find and because it is in a Hutong is hard to access by vehicle pick-up for trips out.

That's my third reservation in this hostel. Why? Friendly staff, perfect English-speaking, great location, good rooms, good bathroom, great bar, nice atmosphere, beatiful people. Totally recommend it!

It exceeded all my expectations of an inexpensive youth hostel: the service was hugely friendly and helpful; the location great - I walked to the Forbidden City and to Tienanmen Sq from the hostel; the subway was close-by; the room comfortable though fairly small, with a very comfortable bed, excellent air-conditioning, a good functional wet-room and good internet access The cafe/bar was equally friendly, atmospheric and good value - though a surprise that coffee/tea wasn't included in the price of breakfast!!! The hotel organised for me to join two trips - one to The Great Wall and the other to see traditional Chinese Opera. There was no charge for me to leave my luggage until the evening of day of departure. I thoroughly recommend.

Nothing to dislike if you bear in mind that this is a YOUTH HOSTEL and extremely good value for money.

Friendly staff, friendly atmosphere, location. I do recommend this hostel. You'll find nice people, good English-speaking, great options for excursion. 100% positive hostel. I'm traveling back to Beijing and I've already booked this hostel again.

Maybe one can find the bathroom not so comfortable, as the shower is in the middle of the room, and the bedroom itself can be quite small. But this is a hostel, the price is pretty good and I could survive without troubles. The great friendly atmosphere minimizes all those things.

I booked this small Hotel for my 17 years old son who was travelling in China for his first time. All the staff has been extremely helpful with him when he was not 100% well because of some food he had eaten somewhere the day before. They cooked something wealthy for him which helped to recover him. Before my son's arrival the staff informed me that hotel was overbooked and that they had to move my son in another small hotel nearby. When he arrived and he was not 100% well they managed to leave him in his room.

The staff treats you as family and want your stay to be te best possible. Good food, service and arranging of excurions.

The hotel is really nice but, they clearly overbook all the time. On arrival we were told that the room was not ok due to a "smelling" problem and that we had to stay in a different hotel. We stayed there for 2 nights (wich was ok) and 2 nights in happy dragon. During those 2 nights we saw the same thing hapening to 3 other travelgroups, every time a different reason.

I loved the staff, the people there, the bar and also the tours they offered.

My room was quite close to the bar which could be loud at times

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the location is close to the city center, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but a good place to stay with great staff! I would definitely recommend to my friends.

Kind of difficult for taxi to find, or maybe he was just hiking the fare by driving in circles.

The staff was incredibly friendly, It was very close to several famous places so you could simply walk there, The food was very good though a little pricey

I was travelling alone and had the one person room next to the bar and kitchen which was loud at night and early in the morning and the taxi driver couldn't really find the adress given on the website. but the girls from the reception helped out nicely

I really like the hotel itself, but rather disappointed about the price and quality of trip to Great Wall they provided. The price is 240 rmb with a guide who didn't explained much, also cheated about trip type.
