Talmudic Stories: Teachings of Wonder, Wisdom, and Values

We will explore selected text-based teachings from the Talmud through the stories it chooses to tell and craft. The stories, or Agadot, are rich in literary style, intellectually challenging ideas, dynamic and eternal human conflicts, and willing to confront the strengths and weaknesses of human nature, as well as godliness and universal realities. Our texts and discussions will enhance and deepen our appreciation of life’s wisdom, our amazing universe, and Jewish values. All texts will be available in their original and in English.

Faculty Bio
Dr. Jeremy Tabick is the Content Manager and faculty at Hadar, where he teaches, curates, and edits Hadar's content—both online and in print—and Project Zug courses. Jeremy received his PhD in Talmud at JTS. He graduated from the University of Manchester (in the UK) with a Masters in Physics, and is an alumnus of Yeshivat Hadar and the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem. He lives in Riverdale with his wife and three children.
Joe Septimus, a management consultant by trade, teaches Adult Ed Torah classes at Central Synagogue, Darkhei Noam, the Manhattan JCC, Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning and other Adult Ed venues, Joe has an MBA from NYU Business School, a BA in Philosophy, studied at Yeshiva Chaim Berlin and Yeshiva Kerem B’Yavneh, is a Wexner Heritage alum, and loves exploring, analyzing, and sharing the literary richness and wisdom of Rabbinic & Biblical texts.
