She Will Survive, probably!

So Theresa Mayhem is to have a vote of no confidence from her own party.

How broken is this country that the Conservative and Useless Party can potentially impose a new Prime Minister on us without actually having to ask the voters. Sums up the mother of all democracies, basically as I have banged in about for years, we just don’t live in a proper one. This is also a Conservative Party battle, as is Brexit, a battle between the real nut jobs and the basic nut jobs.

May will need 158 Tory MPs to support her, if she wins she can’t be challenged for at least a year and if she loses she has to resign. Even though Theresa May is the worst Prime Minister in the history of the U.K. can anyone really see her losing this vote tonight. I suspect she will win tonight due to the fact that there is no one to replace her who isn’t as bad as she is, and we also have the situation that many will be more afraid of a potential General Election and a possible Corbyn Government. Even if there had been a vote of confidence in Parliament the DUP would never support Corbyn who favours the unification of Ireland, Corbyn only believes that Scotland isn’t a country.

Even though I think May will survive she will be several steps closer to the end. Hopefully the end of this horrific Tory Government but at the very least she won’t be around this time next year as Prime Minister I suspect.

One rule for us and one rule for them

Benefit fraud is wrong end of, the same could be said for politicians who fail to declare their income.

But there is a difference, if your a politician and you fail to declare £54,000 in additional earnings you get to stand up in parliament and say sorry I forgot, they have that much money they can forget £54,000 in earnings. But if you try to rip off the Government well its a bit different.

There are lose who are pulling a fast one and there are those who genuinely make mistakes with benefits and there are the many who have ended up in dire straights because of government overpayments and incompetence.

It’s not that long ago that we witnessed the expenses scandal and it was all supposed to be cleaned up, really. Boris Johnstone did not forget £54,000 he just didn’t declare and he gets to say sorry. The politicians plan on a different course of action for those who may try to rip off benefits,

As I said benefit fraud is wrong, it’s taking from those who need it most but the rules and standards need to be seen to be the same. Boris Johnstone maybe isn’t involved in fraud but if you or me didn’t declare £54,000 and claimed benefits we would face jail, he gets to say sorry. That is not good enough.

Something Different: Outlaw King

So I eventually got around to watching Outlaw King starring Chris Pine in the role of Robert the Bruce.

Obviously there are no spoilers needed as most of you know the story. I am often a bit worried when movie makers make a film about Scottish history, I’m not a huge fan of Braveheart all that much. However Outlaw King was good, the scenery amazing as you would expect and from what I can understand the history pretty accurate if not the dialogue.

I had a wee chuckle when the McDougall’s got their arse kicked a bit, I know childish but it kinda sums up Blair McDougall for me lol. Chris Pine does a really good job in the film and plays the role very convincingly with not a kilt in sight. The action is brutal as it must have been at the time but handled very well.

It may have all happened 600 years ago but I suppose the struggle goes on, bought and sold, that really sums up our history. I know that Chris Pine played down the politics of the film on release but it still resonates today in that we need to disregard the past. The future of Scotland lays with the people now and in a civic nationalism but in the U.K. right now we can see echoes of its past, listen to the Brexit debate in Westminster and we can hear the nonsense of 600 years ago being spewed out by politicians living in a time warp , maybe I could be stretching things.

Overall though the film is well worth a watch and is good , did I feel all Scottish watching it, yeah lol.

Miserable And Cruel Bastards

The Tory Government that’s who. We have all heard the horror stories about Universal Credit and Munguin’s New Republic has an excellent blog today about a similar subject but what I want to bring to your attention is this.

At the start of this month, very quietly, the £10 bonus that those who used to get disability payments, pip or pensions, plus other benefits, discovered that the £10 they got every year at the start of December to help with the extra burden of Christmas had been removed.

Universal Credit is a disgrace and should be scrapped, Iain Duncan Smith should be hung out to dry for devising this cruel and inhuman method of paying out social security. How many billions have been wasted on this system, the Liberals and Labour also have a lot to answer for, they could have stopped this but did nothing.

However, to remove this tiny additional payment just highlights the cruelty and contempt that the Tories have for those in need in this country. This Government is so full of hate that they have somehow managed to stoop to this new low. Happy to bill the taxpayer for minor Royal Weddings but hey we can get the most vulnerable to help pay for them.

When are people going to wake up to the fact that we are being attached every day by the Tories, it’s scary, but we are at war with these scumbags, I hate them. It’s one of the reasons I also don’t like the slow creep approach of some in the SNP about indy2, we can not afford to wait, our core vote will have been killed off by then.

The Tories are bastards end of and I don’t apologise for feeling this way.

Comment : Sometimes people get annoyed at me

Get annoyed at me for questioning both the strategy and commitment of some in the SNP on the future direction for another independence referendum. Well below is part of the reason.

I’ve been noting on this blog for some time now that I was not convinced that the SNP want to hold indy2 anytime soon, and that their recent tactics would indicate delaying. Pete Wishart all but confirms this tonight.

There is no reason to delay calling and fighting for another vote. Yes we might lose, and if we did lose given our current circumstances under the worst Tory Government ever, well we would never win a referendum anyway and don’t deserve independence.

However. We also saw in the last one that the vote can shift once the campaign starts and we don’t start on 24%, or there abouts, like the last time, we start on 45%. It’s time for the SNP to show they are the party of independence and lead, stop playing Westminster’s Brexit game and lead from the front, if you can’t then it’s time for the members to put a leadership in place who will.

Self-Aware – Not On Your Life

Saw a few tweets at the weekend that just annoyed me to be honest. First up we have the obnoxious Clair Perry Tory MP:

celebrating, celebrating opening up another food bank. What is this total waste of space on. No self awareness whatsoever and as you would expect some reaction on Twitter.

Next up our very own obnoxious and shameless Ross ‘ thick as mince ‘ Thomson Tory MP not being self aware.

Now most of us will have read a little about the UN Report on poverty in the U.K. and the findings that this is a deliberate policy of the Tories, as most of who are self aware know, well those of us who have a heart do.

The reality is that this Christmas many will be going without food, many without heating, many without a roof over their heads or all of the above.

And what do we have, the purveyors of this crime acting like they are doing hungry people a favour and either not understanding, or not caring, that they are in fact the cause of a lot of that hunger in the U.K. in the first place.

I also have reservations about the Trussell Trust, as many others do, I appreciate they might get some funding from government but the comfortable relationship appears a little too comfortable at times and feels wrong. The Trussell Trust also operate a referral system so

Not everyone can appear to go along for support without that referral but I also sympathise with the tweet below.

I have no doubt that large charities like the Trussell Trust challenge government policy but the larger the charity gets the more it starts to feel like a business and the normalisation effect takes hold so I can see where Mr. Malky is coming from.

Either way though there is something seriously wrong with Tories celebrating the opening of a food bank or taking advantage of giving to one on social media, acting like they give a shit when we know they don’t. Some Tories like Edwina Curry actually don’t like them as she stated last year

while the Tories actually refused money from the EU which tells you all you need to know about the morality of that party of what can only be described as vermin.

The level of food poverty in this country should be regarded as a crime and the Tories and Tory enablers need to ashamed.

Good, wouldn’t want to be associated with the stink

So John McConnell, Labour MP, has said the party would NOT do a deal with SNP in the event of Labour winning a general election but with no majority.

Good. Good because the chances of the Red Tories beating the Blue Tories are pretty slim anyway. Good because the SNP would be making a huge mistake in doing any deal with the Red Tories, the stink on the membership would be unbearable.

Labour really do live in a fantasy land. Does anyone actually believe they could win a General Election with Corbyn, I don’t because I don’t think they can win with anyone. Labour are a disgusting party, they could have made massive changes to social security putting the Tories under pressure, what did they do, abstained.

They encouraged voters to tactically vote, even vote for Ruth Davidson, to keep the SNP out as best they could. They are in coalition with Tories all over Scotland to keep the SNP from having control in some councils. Just last week they yet again refused to back a call for all social security to be devolved then had a campaign to demand the SNP mitigate the horrendous damage the Tories are doing to social security.

Labour are a disgusting excuse for a so called left of centre party, they have never been socialist, that’s just a word to attract students who haven’t lived yet. I would imagine the SNP would lose members if they ever did a deal with those untrustworthy Red Tories.
