GatherDC loves welcoming new faces to the city. Our Newish and Jewish activities range from happy hours for people who have just moved here, to small, intimate gatherings with other newbies. Whether you’ve just graduated from college or grad school, or are relocating for a new gig, let GatherDC welcome you over coffee and connect you to all that Jewish DC has to offer.

Want to meet other interesting Jews around your age in a smaller, more personal setting? Done and done.
Mini Gatherings are 3-week-long mini-fellowships that bring together 15ish Jews around the same age but with diverse interests and backgrounds to meet one another and have some DMCs (deep meaningful conversations) over beers. By the end, you’ll have made new friends, had some great discussions, increase your Jewish education and learning and feel more connected to Jewish life in DC.

GatherDC’s signature Open Doors Fellowship is an innovative initiative that brings together and trains self-proclaimed “people persons” to become go-to leaders, conveners, and facilitators of DC Jewish life.
Now in its fourth cohort, this 6-month fellowship teaches a group of 8-12 extraordinary young adults from across DC how to be exceptional relationship builders and create a more welcoming, inclusive local Jewish community. Fellows learn together at bi-monthly meetings, experience an immersive weekend long retreat, welcome DC newcomers to the city, and receive financial support to bring a unique capstone project to life – all while forming deep, lasting friendships with one another.

Love to write? Be a part of a group of talented writers to create new, innovative blog‘s content for GatherDC all year long. As a part of the ‘Gather the Bloggers’ cohort, you will be able to regularly share your deep life insights with thousands of 20s and 30s, attend quarterly bloggers get-togthers/field trips, enrich your creative writing and communication skills, and build close friendships with fellow bloggers who share your passion for creative writing and Jewish DC.

Escape DC and start exploring new ways of understanding your Jewish identity. Join GatherDC for a weekend getaway to dig deep, learn, and connect. This interactive experience brings together Jews from DC to broaden the conversation about what it means to be Jewish today. Together, we will unpack 21st century American Judaism and explore alternative models for expressing that identity. And, of course, you’ll have fun doing it with other great Jewish 20s and 30s from DC.
