Embroidery art, Felt art, floral art, textile art. 2018 hot Summer

This year has been very difficult for me. To get through it all I have concentrated in the main on my art work, felting and embroidery have been my saviours.

Now that I seem to have come out to the other side I am ready to start sharing my creations.

I have called this art piece 2018 Hot Summer.
It is all handmade including the felt that the textiles and embroidery have been added to. The felt has been made using merino wool fibres and pure silk strands and felted by the wet felting method.

I love to use antique textiles in my work and the flower above is early 19th century.

There is lots of history in this piece as the lace and silks are very old as  well. The embroidery threads I used are either antique or vintage. I love to add something different and the little butterfly on the flower has been cut from some antique embroidered braid.

This art piece has been attached to an acid free mount board ready for framing.

If you would like to remember this years hot Summer then it can be purchased on my

Here are a few more detailed images og the piece.

Felt brooch with antique silk flowers - handmade by Feltissimo

A pretty felt brooch with three silk flowers.

This little felt brooch is handmade The felt has been made using turquoise coloured merino wool fibres with additions of silk fibres. The felt has been made by a process of wet felting by hand so that the hooks on the wool all lock together creating a strong fabric.

The flowers have petals made from antique silk chiffon scarves and have a french knot embroidered at the centre.
The whole felt brooch has been stiffened with decovil light and then covered with a pretty English 1960's vintage fabric. A pin has been securely stitched onto the reverse.

The felt brooch measures approx. 6.5cms(2.6") x 3.5cms(1.4") .
This will come packed neatly in a box which makes it ideal for a gift.
I am happy to combine shipping, please see the details in the 'shipping and policies' link underneath the images.
I have many years of shipping worldwide through my 'Rag Rescue' business so please be assured that a great deal of care will be taken to ensure that your orders arrive safely with you.

Ideal as a Christmas gift.

Lilac floral felted Art Card - Ready for framing.

Yet another Art card. This time it was commissioned for a special birthday. The request was for a larger card than I normally make and although I found this a little more difficult I was pleased with the result. I've used the wools I bought at the woolfest.

For those of you who haven't come across my art cards before, I would just like to explain.

These cards are made entirely from handmade felt apart from the thin central card for a message to be written on. Afterwards this card can be removed easily and after a light press the work of art can be framed.
