Samples

We want to help you to create great applications on Azure by providing a comprehensive list of code samples. To do this, we need your help to decide where our resources should be applied.

Is there a Azure code sample that you need? Or is there an existing sample that could be improved?

Please use your vote or create a new suggestion to give your feedback. Thank you!

Thanks for the idea. It seems like the resources in the comments might cover this. But I’ll see if there are any additional samples. In the meantime, anyone is welcome to add comments to this thread to explain where there are gaps in our samples on ASP.NET MVC with Windows Azure Storage.

        • ContinuationTokens in TableStorageClient BeginExecuteQuerySegmented

I need to use continuation tokens in BeginExecuteQuerySegmented and have no idea how to implement this.

Ideally I'd like to hook this up to TPL or TPL Dataflow so I can process entries as they are read in in batches of 100.

Thank you for the samples suggestion. I apologize for the very delayed response. I see that some solutions have been provided on StackOverflow in the thread you mentioned. However, we will look into whether we could use an actual sample on this. Thanks.

                • sharding

Have some on a workaround in F# using Tuples, same idea could be used in C#, the first item is your federationID (any scope), the second the original entity; realize SQL Azure is getting the FEDERATION statement this spring, this worked pretty good for in between.

I apologize for the very long delay on this response. For your idea of using Tuples for sharding, I would like to understand it better. Can you describe the advantage that you get from using Tuples? Or can you give a quick description of a few items being added and how they go to (or are accessed from) the appropriate sharded database? Thank you.

I’m reviewing this samples request for office automation in Windows Azure. I believe this would be possible in a Windows Azure Virtual Machine. Are you interested in doing this in Cloud Services or Web Sites as well? I will investigate to see what we have out there. I apologize for the delayed response. Thank you.

I apologize for the delayed response on this samples request. I’m reviewing this now. Is this a request for ASP.NET session state and output caching providers? I’m not clear as to which providers you are referring to. Thank you.

                                      • Drag and Drop file explorer using ASP.NET MVC and Azure

Show users how to code Drag and Drop files into a browser window using ASP.NET MVC and Azure. Files should be uploaded automatically to Azure and show all files in the remote destination folder. This functionality in action would be much more usable than how Dropbox's UI currently is.
