MEPs call for 'freeze' in Turkey accession talks
By EUOBSERVER
The European Parliament has adopted a resolution calling for a "freeze" on negotiations for Turkey's accession to the EU until Turkish authorities end "disproportionate repressive measures". The text, approved by 479 votes to 37 with 107 abstentions, is non-binding. Only the European Commission can recommend the actual suspension of the accession process, and the final decision is up to member states.
