Austria wants Turkey-style refugee deal with Egypt

Austrian chancellor Christian Kern said the EU should conclude a refugee deal with Egypt mirroring the one with Turkey, under which the bloc gives Ankara money so it stems the flows of migrants. "The EU must have an interest in stabilising the region," Kern said on Monday. Austria fears asylum seekers could start coming to the EU from Egypt next year.
