South East European unions stand with Belgian workers
(29 March 2016) The attacks on the airport and metro of Brussels affected the trade union colleagues that attended the South East European constituency meeting. The Turkish representatives recalled vividly the attacks in Ankara in October. And there have been new attacks in Istanbul and Ankara since. The union leaders stood in silence. They expressed their sympathy with the families, friends and co-workers of those killed and injured.

EPSU joins ETUC in our solidarity with the people of Belgium
(Brussels, 22 March 2016) The Executive Committee of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), gathering today for a meeting in Brussels and bringing together trade union leaders from all over Europe, expressed its solidarity with the people of Brussels and the victims of this morning's horrific bomb attacks.

EPSU and PSI policy staff plan work for 2016
(20 January 2016) We will be building on the work done on tax, trade, migration and more to effect the changes needed. Fighting for Trade union rights, addressing debt, and assisting unions resisting privatisation will be on the agenda. EPSU and PSI policy staff meet regularly to discuss European and global issues that impact on public service workers. We consider how the work of the European governments effects the global agenda and work of the global institutions.

Hans Engelberts
(14 April) It is with deep sadness that we have learned Monday morning 13 April that Hans Engelberts has passed away after a long sickness.Hans Engelberts was General Secretary of the Public Services International from 1981 to 2007. Our thoughts go to his family, his children and grandchildren and his friends in this moment of sorrow and loss. Having started his trade union career in the predecessor of AbvaKabo in the Netherlands, Hans dedicated his life to the PSI. He has contributed to the development of the organisation in major ways:
